Sincero, Mt Bright Road. What a lovely place to spend some quite time while attending concerts or just wine tasting, while in the Hunter Valley. It is about a 10 minute drive from the wineyards, perched up on a hill, just outside Cessnock. The accommodation ajoins the may residence, a very 'French' way of doing things. But don't let this concern you, it is private and the hosts are very discreet.
The accommodation was redecorated in 2007, beautifully done by your hosts, Susy and Phil. Very comfortable, air con, and gas heating if needed. A coutryard with BBQ, great at night for star gazing, drinking fine local wines etc. A very quite and relaxing experience. Kangaroos grazing on extensive lawns and young vines with lots of promise for the future. Phil is a winemaker and is working on establishing a new label.
If you are fortunate, you might get to sample the current batch. Great hosts and a lovely place to stay and we will go back without hesitation.
Cessnock is a typical country town, with origins in coal mining. 10-15 mins drive outside of Cessnock you will find a large selection of great wineries and restaurants, too many to check out in a single weekend! About an hours drive to Shoal Bay, the best of both worls really!
